Julian Wittich Tidelines Quartet

Tidelines Quartet is an international ensemble led by Taiwanese-Dutch bassist, composer, and bandleader Julian Wittich, featuring saxophonist Nick Biello (USA), pianist Yuying Hsu (Taiwan), and drummer Teemu Mustonen (Finland). Bringing together musicians from diverse cultural backgrounds, the quartet explores a contemporary jazz language shaped by collaboration, curiosity, and shared musical experiences.

Centered around original compositions, the group's music blends modern jazz improvisation with rhythmic and melodic influences from Brazil, Cuba, and Taiwan, creating an expressive sound that reflects today's interconnected musical landscape.

In 2026, Wittich released his debut album Tidelines, recorded at The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, New York, featuring GRAMMY Award-nominated guest artists Bob Sheppard and Rogério Boccato. Through openness, dialogue, and improvisation, Tidelines Quartet demonstrates how jazz continues to connect cultures, turning diverse musical traditions into a shared artistic voice.
