Rei & The Moving Castle is a musical project led by Taiwanese bassist Rei Wang, inspired by the anime worlds that have accompanied generations of audiences.

Growing up in Taiwan in the 1990s, Rei was surrounded by the unforgettable works of Studio Ghibli and many other iconic anime creators. For her, these stories were never just childhood entertainment—they became lasting memories, shaped by the characters, imagery, and, above all, the music.

What moved Rei most was the emotional power of anime soundtracks. From Joe Hisaishi's timeless scores for Studio Ghibli to the cinematic music of One Piece and Attack on Titan, these melodies carry feelings of wonder, courage, loneliness, and hope that continue to resonate across generations.

With Rei & The Moving Castle, Rei reimagines these beloved themes through her own musical voice. Rather than recreating the originals, the project invites audiences to reconnect with the memories, dreams, and emotions these stories have inspired.
