T-SQUARE stands among Japan's most celebrated instrumental bands, earning acclaim both at home and abroad. Since making their recording debut with CBS Sony in 1978, the group has maintained extraordinary creative vitality, releasing new albums at the remarkable pace of at least one title every year.
Through annual album releases and nationwide concert tours, as well as worldwide music distribution and live-stream broadcasts across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, the band has continued to expand its global fanbase. In recent years, growing invitations to international festivals and overseas headline performances have further energized their worldwide presence.
In August 2021, founding member, leader, and guitarist Masahiro Ando announced his decision to step away from the band and entrust its future to a younger generation, a move that shocked fans and marked a major turning point in the group's history.
Following the special auditions held during the band's 45th anniversary concert in October 2023, two talented new members—a graduate student and a university student—were selected to join the band. Marking a bold new chapter beginning in 2025, the band has attracted a growing younger fanbase and generated considerable excitement, with tickets for their concerts selling out as early as two months before the show.
Most recently, T-SQUARE released their new album, VOYAGE, which features original compositions by the band's two young new members, showcasing the fresh musical perspectives and creative energy they have brought to the group. Even now, 48 years after their debut, T-SQUARE continues to evolve, and their momentum shows no signs of slowing down.
