Taiwanese pianist, composer, arranger, and producer Yu-Ying Hsu is one of the leading voices in Taiwan's contemporary jazz scene. Blending classical training with modern jazz, improvisation, and cross-disciplinary influences, her music is distinguished by lyrical storytelling, refined craftsmanship, and an adventurous creative spirit.

A graduate of the jazz studies program at Purchase College, SUNY, Hsu has received multiple Golden Melody Awards, including Best Instrumental Album, Best Instrumental Album Producer, and Best Instrumental Recording Album for happened, happening. Her composition "Chapter III: India, Italy and Me" also earned the Golden Melody Award for Best Instrumental Composition. Beyond her own projects, she has appeared as a featured guest on aMEI's ASMR World Tour, served as the principal jazz pianist for the NSO's La La Land in Concert, and continues to explore new artistic possibilities through film, theatre, multimedia, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

For this performance, Hsu is joined by GRAMMY® Award-winning bassist Bam Rodríguez and New York drummer Zack O'Farrill. Bringing together artists from Taiwan, Latin America, and New York, the trio creates music rooted in shared listening, collective improvisation, and musical dialogue, where distinct cultural voices come together to shape a vibrant and contemporary jazz experience.
