Cuban pianist and composer Alfredo Rodríguez is celebrated for his dazzling technique, rhythmic imagination, and distinctive blend of jazz, Cuban traditions, and contemporary influences. A protégé of the legendary Quincy Jones, Rodríguez has built an international career defined by virtuosity, storytelling, and an unmistakable musical voice.

Born and raised in Havana, Rodríguez received rigorous classical training before developing his own artistic language through jazz and the rich musical heritage of Cuba. Since being discovered by Jones at the Montreux Jazz Festival, he has performed on major stages around the world and earned a GRAMMY® Award nomination for his interpretation of Guantanamera. His acclaimed recordings—including The Invasion Parade, Coral Way, Tocororo, and Duologue—trace a personal journey shaped by migration, cultural identity, and constant musical exploration.

Rodríguez's latest album, ¡Take Cover! (2026), reimagines familiar songs through the vibrant energy of Cuban timba, reflecting both his playful creativity and deep respect for musical traditions. Whether performing his own compositions or reinventing beloved classics, Rodríguez brings together technical brilliance, infectious rhythm, and emotional depth in performances that transcend cultural boundaries.
