Suga Dairo and Minyen Hsieh have built one of the most exciting Taiwan–Japan jazz collaborations in recent years. Since their first appearance together at the Taichung Jazz Festival in 2022, they have performed nearly 50 concerts across Taiwan and Japan. Their collaboration also led to the acclaimed recording Our Waning Love (2023), which received the Best Jazz Song award at the 14th Golden Indie Music Awards, followed by the Blu-ray release Live at Jazz Room Cortez (2024).

Returning to the Taichung Jazz Festival after four years, Japanese piano virtuoso Suga Dairo joins forces with legendary drummer Tamaya Honda, bassist Takashi Seo, and Taiwanese saxophonist Minyen Hsieh for a special quartet performance. The concert will feature the premiere of Suga’s latest unreleased work, Journey to the West Suite.
