In 1968, at the age of 18, Rich Huang became the resident drummer at the Taichung Ching Chuan Kang US Military Club (CCK Club), a base hosting a large number of US troops and serving as a frontline for Taiwanese musicians to experience American pop and jazz music. Huang Ruifeng accumulated extensive practical experience there, laying the important foundation for his legendary status as Taiwan’s jazz drummer.

In 2025, he will return to the stage where his dreams began, presenting the special project “Back to Ching Chuan Kang” at the Taichung Jazz Festival. He will lead the audience back to the golden era of the 1960s and ’70s. The performance will blend classic jazz, blues, and American pop music from that time, awakening precious memories of Taichung and jazz.

This performance will feature special guests: outstanding keyboardistSheng-Fei Lu and saxophonist Cheng-Yu Lee, joining forces to deliver a moving musical and historical retrospective.
