Led by German baritone saxophonist Jonas Ganzemüller, CONTRAPOINT is a modern quintet dedicated to original and experimental jazz compositions. The ensemble combines talented musicians from Germany and Taiwan: Brandon Lin, Tseng-Yi Tseng, Yu Jia Liu, and Gabriel Hahn, exploring the possibilities of contemporary jazz through multi-layered soundscapes.

Jonas has performed on international stages such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, New York’s Lincoln Center, and Amsterdam’s Bimhuis, and participated in a Latin Grammy-nominated project. Since settling in Taiwan in 2020, he has been actively involved in performances and recording projects, bringing an international perspective to Taiwan’s jazz scene.

CONTRAPOINT’s musical language is both abstract and profound, blending improvisation with an experimental spirit, opening a dialogue between jazz and contemporary composition.
