Led by trombonist Kento Kubota, Gentle Forest Jazz Band is one of Japan’s most iconic jazz big bands, renowned for its refined swing style and versatile cross-genre creativity. Besides recreating the glamorous atmosphere of the classic jazz era, the band continuously explores composing music for commercials, films, and comedy performances, breaking the boundaries of jazz and showcasing limitless creative energy.

Appearing at the Taichung Jazz Festival this time, they will perform as a quintet accompanied by three jazz female vocalists. Drawing from two decades of classic repertoire and original compositions, they recreate a magnificent soundscape woven from instruments and voices. Gentle Forest 5 & Gentle Forest Sisters will deliver a live feast rich in rhythmic vitality and layered textures through their tight ensemble synergy and compelling stage presence.
